High Speed internet everywhere and for everyone

from the center of France…
Thanks to the partnership between France Telecom and the Région Auvergne, 99.6% of the homes in this area were eligible for ADSL in 2008. For the remaining 0.4 %, which represent the most isolated homes and for which ADSL access is technically impossible, the Group offers a solution by satellite. Auvergne is thus the 1st French region to be completely covered by high speed access.

… to Senegal !
For 5 years, the Sonatel group has contributed to the development of Internet use by multiplying the access points throughout the country. Thanks to the group's activity, 100% of the Senegalese population can access the Internet, particularly via CDMA technology in isolated regions, which makes Sonatel's Internet network the most important of Sub-Saharan Africa, after South Africa.

ground for innovation
Our global innovation network, the Orange Labs, participates in collaborative research programs on several large topics: the convergence of networks, habitat services, the future of mobile phones... It is in this framework that the Orange Labs are actively involved in the project “Digital World Forum on Accessible and Inclusive ICT” (DWF), co-financed by the European Commission. This project aims at favouring the development of information and communication technologies in Africa and Latin America. The results of the DWF project and the recommendations emitted by the partners for future work directions were presented in Brussels on September 30th, 2009, during the project closing meeting. Orange Labs of Cairo in particular presented recommendations related to high speed access, having played a decisive role in the elaboration.
