The Secretariat of State for Youth and Associations, the Civic Service Agency and Orange sign a national framework agreement to encourage young people to get involved

Paris, October 20, 2011

Orange has signed an agreement to work with the Civic Service Agency and the French Ministry of Education, Youth and Associations to promote involvement and solidarity.
Following the launch of a special mobile offer for Civic Service volunteers last year, the new agreement will promote the Civic Service experience within the company.

Jeannette Bougrab, Secretary of State for Youth and Associations, Jean-Benoît Dujol, Head of the Civic Service Agency, and Stéphane Richard, Chairman and CEO of France Telecom-Orange signed the agreement this morning.

The Civic Service, created by a unanimous vote in March 2010, is a programme which offers young people ages 16 through 25 an opportunity to get involved in an experience which serves both them and the community by working on projects which are considered national priorities.
Civic Service experiences, which last for 6 to 12 months, can be done with charities, NGOs, local governments and public institutions in France and abroad.
Volunteers receive a monthly stipend of 546 Euros. 15,000 young people will complete a Civic Service experience in 2011, a figure which should reach 25,000 in 2012.

Orange and the Civic Service Agency first worked together to promote the Civic Service in 2010, with a special offer for volunteers. Orange's "Civic Service Advantage" offer, launched in late 2010, has already attracted more than 800 subscribers.

Developing the Civic Service and encouraging young people to get involved are key elements of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Associations' policies.

Orange intends to expand its commitment to the Civic Service through this agreement, which will help Civic Service volunteers enter the corporate world.

Under the agreement, Orange will promote the Civic Service experience within the Group and ensure that it is taken into account and given due consideration when volunteers apply for jobs.
Presentations of different volunteers' experiences will be used to promote the partnership in Orange's internal communications, particularly on its intranet.
Orange has also committed to hosting Civic Service volunteers working for one of the charities supported by the Orange Foundation once each year.

The Civic Service Agency will in turn promote Orange on its recruiting website (www.service-civique.gouv.fr) in "ASCenseur," its dedicated job search space for volunteers.

By signing this agreement, Orange has confirmed its commitment to supporting professional insertion for young people. Orange aims to move beyond its legal and regulatory obligations to live out its corporate values to the fullest. This ambition is made a reality by the vast number of Group employees who have made a commitment to promoting diversity, gender equality, equal opportunity and employment opportunities young people, as well as other social issues.
