The 2010 Orange Book Award community has chosen David Thomas for his novel Un silence de clairière
Yesterday night, Christine Albanel, Executive Vice President, Orange group, and Erik Orsenna, Member of the Académie Française and President of the Orange Book Award’s jury, announced the results of the Internet votes (voting closed on 10 June) during a ceremony held in Paris.
Following several weeks of discussions and sharing views on their favorite books on the orange.fr/prixorangedulivre site, the internet community has just chosen the third Orange Book Award winner from a selection of six novels taken from an initial shortlist of 35 books published between January 1 and April 30, 2011. David Thomas succeeds Fabrice Humbert (L’Origine de la violence - Le Passage) and Jacques Gélat (Le traducteur amoureux – Editions Corti) who respectively won the prize for their novels in 2009 and 2010.
the 2011 Orange Book Award goes to:

With a 15,000 Euro prize, the Orange Book Award rewards a work of fiction written in French and published in France between January 1 and April 30, 2011. It is the first literature prize to involve Internet users throughout the whole process - from the early stages, where they comment on their favourite books, up to the final vote in which they alone have the final say. This year, the 6 finalist books will be produced in a digital audio format for the visually impaired by the Orange Foundation.
The Orange Book Community allows Internet users to exchange ideas and talk about their favourite books throughout the year – uniting over 15 000 book lovers.
