secure gateways enable seamless extension of corporate private networks into the cloud

Leveraging its cloud-ready network, Orange Business Services is launching Business VPN Galerie, the world’s first hub linking VPN customers to the world of cloud services via trusted network gateways. With Business VPN Galerie, cloud services become virtually part of the customer’s VPN, allowing enterprises to seamlessly benefit from the advantages of the Orange Business Services cloud-ready network: end-to-end management and support, reliability, performance and security. Customers can keep their existing user access methods and corporate security policies.

This cloud-ready network solution benefits both enterprises and cloud services providers.

Leveraging the Orange Business Services IP VPN, the largest domestic and global IP VPN, Business VPN Galerie provides enterprises with more reliable and better performing access to cloud services compared to the Internet and addresses their primary security concerns. As a hub, Business VPN Galerie also provides more simple and cost-effective access to cloud services than dedicated lines.

Cloud services providers benefit from Business VPN Galerie since it allows them to deliver their applications in a cloud mode with the same outstanding customer experience. They can focus on their core business while Orange manages the connection complexity for them.

“Cloud computing is about delivering services in a more flexible and cost effective way,” said Marc Blanchet, senior vice president, Global Communication Services, Orange Business Services. “Business VPN Galerie is part of the cloud computing evolution. Orange Business Services is extending its network as an intermediation platform between its customers and their cloud provider, allowing them to optimize further their IT and network. Our customers have one place to call and have access to skilled resources fully responsible for their connection to cloud services.”

Today Business VPN Galerie hosts the cloud services and applications from Orange (IT Plan in France, Flexible Computing, Smartphone management) and from external partners including Ingenico (payment solutions) and Swift (cash management). The solution is available in France with 12 customers already signed. An international pilot is planned for Q1 2011.
