Running since 24 February, this experience offers a new type of narration, in which development, production and usage are conceived in a multimedia way. All Orange channels are used to allow viewers to immerse themselves totally in the universe and the daily life of a couple investigating the paranormal. The experience unfolds simultaneously on TV, mobile, web, and the real world, where the viewer can join the FDP community and thereby discuss, comment and interact with the story:
over the web: a videoblog, a Facebook page and a Twitter account are made available to surfers to explore the paranormal universe and share their thoughts on the subject. They can also join the FDP community at fdp-tv.com. This website provides content dedicated to understanding the world of the paranormal (Encyclopaedia of the paranormal, portraits of personalities, typology of places, research papers, etc). Users thus become "spect-actors" in the series producing content that enriches the multimedia tool (geolocation of witnesses, photo challenges, quizzes, actual research, etc.)
on TV: The FDP experience incorporates the daily broadcasts of a series of 26 episodes of 4'30", on the Orange cinema series (Orange shock cinema) from 5th April. Semi-documentary and semi-intimate journal, this miniseries, written by Jean Christophe Establet, recounts the daily life of a couple researching the paranormal. Each episode corresponds to a search into a paranormal phenomenon. The series aims to be both a realistic and humorous discussion into the topic
on mobile: the mobile world becomes part of the tool, when an urban challenge is launched at the community: “hunt the paranormal around you”.
Web users, armed with their mobiles, take photos of the unusual and can geolocate them on an online map on fdp-tv.com
the real world: Alternate Reality Games (ARG) is the most immersive phase in the experience and offers the community a real search in the form of a treasure hunt.
Can web-ers find Fred, the brother of the main protagonist JC Dénarié?
By navigating between TV, web, mobile and the real world, viewers can discover the full richness of transmedia experience.
Through FDP, Orange and Happy Fannie offer viewers the possibility of getting to know the personalities, share interests, integrate with the series to progressively become actors in the stories.
Orange supports new forms of creationPublic and consumer tastes are changing in terms of media use. Passing naturally from one medium to another, they can follow their favourite content universe on all screens. Orange hopes to support this change and provide a strong boost to the development of new programming. The Group is progressively making available all its channels and services to support broader transmedia narration: TV, VoD, web mobile, SMS, MMS, Liveradio, music, portals, web, advertising network.
In addition to the “Faits divers paranormaux" project, in the past few months Orange has launched a number of initiatives promoting transmedia to support French and European writers and producers engaged in these new forms of creation: The "Bourse Orange / Formats innovants" grant aimed at encouraging innovating formats, in partnership with the Beaumarchais-SACD, creative Workshops and the Transmedia Lab.
