Valérie Thérond appointed Head of Accounting for the France Telecom Group

Valérie Thérond has been appointed Head of Accounting for the Group from November 2, 2009. Reporting to Gervais Pellissier, Deputy CEO, responsible for the Group’s Finance and Information Systems, she replaces Jacques de Galzain, whose next position in Finance within the Group will be announced shortly.
Valérie Thérond has joined the Group from Thomson where she worked since 2001 and where she successively held the positions of Worldwide Sourcing Controller, General Manager of Thomson’s Optical Components business unit in Hong-Kong, Chief Financial Officer of the Access Products business unit within Thomson’s Systems division, and finally Head of Internal Audit.
Prior to joining Thomson, Valérie Thérond worked for Bull from 1993 to 2001 where she started as internal auditor, before assuming different financial controller assignments, both in business units and at a corporate level. Prior to that, she was a consultant for Andersen Consulting between 1989 and 1993.
Valérie Thérond, aged 44, graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (Finance).
