Consisting of close to 6,500 people, the “Networks, Carriers and Information
Technology” group function defines the general strategy (technical architecture, technological choices
and
the evolution of traffic, etc.) and steers its implementation in countries. It
provides technical support to subsidiaries and handles the design and construction
of technical elements common to several countries in the domains of service platforms
and development of the information system. It handles the design, construction
and operation of trans-national networks and commercialises network products for
third-party French and international carriers.
For each country, one entity, the Domestic Network Factory, handles all responsibility for the design, construction and operation of domestic networks and the information system. Being more reactive, it also enables resources and processes to be pooled. As a result, the same team can now equally work on a GSM mobile station or a fixed High-Speed connection.
Next, the setup of service management centres helps to improve the management of quality of service, from end-to-end and from the customer's viewpoint. With a global vision of services, these units coordinate the restoration of technical elements on the entire network chain and are in close contact with customer centres.
Finally, thanks to skills centres, the equipment chosen at group level and services designed within the framework of the Technocentre are deployed everywhere in a quick, uniform, industrial manner.
