For the second year, Orange has decided to support “Safer Internet Day” on 7th February which is organised by Insafe each year to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.

Promoting safe and responsible use of its services is one of France Telecom–Orange’s corporate social responsibility priorities. It’s a major commitment for the Group, which meets the growing needs of its customers, the general public, associations and the legislature. Over the last few years, France Telecom-Orange has pursued an active child safety policy through :
Awareness actions to actively promote responsible use through clear information relaying the messages of specialised institutions and NGOs.
Training plans for parents, teachers and children to encourage the right habits and help them get acquainted with our tools.
Tools development for content filtering and parental control to follow up on the digital world evolutions.

Safer Internet Day: Orange leads actions in many European countries
- Orange is partering with the Safe Internet Committee of Armenia who created the website www.safe.am.
- Orange France will organize an exceptional action for the Safer Internet Day: a video live Chat on February 7th  Orange will launch on February 9th a new version of the parental control over mobile. Besides, Orange will organize awareness and training workshops for the parents.
- In Moldova Orange will partner with a local NGO called “PRO Info” to train 60 professors of computer science and Orange employees volunteers regarding children safety on the Internet. Besides, a national contest for children from schools/pupils will be launched.
- Orange Foundation Poland is the main Partner of this day in Poland. Safer Internet Day will be celebrated by a conference organized by Orange’s partner, Nobody's Children Foundation, and other NGO's, followed by a trade fair of different projects concerning children safety on the Internet.
- Orange Romania works with the NGO “Save the Children Romania” and supports their initiatives. For the 5th year in a row Orange will be one of the partners of their “Safer Internet Day 2012 Awards Gala” which rewards the best digital projects conceived by pupils aged 5 to 18 along with their parents or teachers on the topic “Discover the digital world together. Connecting generations”.
- In Slovakia, Orange’s team will provide the feedbacks from “the field” after a two year old Orange programme where psychologists visited primary schools to educate children on risks and responsible uses of communication technologies.
- Orange Spain: further to the actions led all year round by Orange especially awareness programmes in shools with 'Protegeles', Orange sponsors a congress organized by the Spanish Awareness Centre dedicated to "Teenagers on the net" due in February the 7th
