in Poland, the TP Group is supporting the Etnoliga tournament

Football has many colors and can be enjoyed by everyone. That’s the goal of the third Etnoliga multicultural football tournament, which kicked off last Saturday (February 4) in Warsaw. Its aim is to draw attention to the problems of racism and sexism in football. TP Group is the event’s principal sponsor.

Sport can lead to a sense of community and a lot of positive emotions. That’s why Orange is one of the biggest sponsors of sport in Poland: Orange has been an official partner of the national football team for a number of years, and has become a sponsor of the UEFA European Football Championship™, UEFA EURO 2012™.

Unfortunately, xenophobia remains a serious issue, as much inside the stadia as outside. Special attention needs to be paid towards this problem, especially as we approach the next European Championships. That’s therefore why Orange instinctively turned its attention towards the promotion of equality and values of fair play, without which football would lose its magic.
The Etnoliga tournament highlights the importance of being tolerant both on the pitch and in life.

The organizers of this third tournament are the Etnoliga Foundation for freedom and the NIGDY WIĘCEJ (”No More”) group; the project is part of the official UEFA EURO 2012™ volunteer program.

More than 130 men and women from many different countries and backgrounds are involved in the tournament. It includes UEFA EURO 2012™ volunteers, NGO personnel on the ground, and fans including Group employees. Each of the 12 teams includes at least three people from different nations and one woman. A total of 66 matches will be played during the course of the next three months.

Etnoliga is more than just a football match: the tournaments include other events such as intercultural workshops, opportunities to try different cuisine from around the world, exhibitions, happenings, and even the chance to meet famous players who participated in previous tournaments.
