Orange celebrates the 28th African Cup of Nations

Football is a fascinating universal language that brings together one billion Africans in 55 countries. Since 2009, Orange has been supporting the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a principal sponsor for the six main competitions on the continent through to 2016.
Today, Orange is linking up with the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea, from the start of the 28th event on January 21 in Gabon and throughout the competition's 32 matches, all the way through to the final, which will be taking place in Libreville on February 12.

longstanding partnership with African football

This partnership with the CAF follows on from a longstanding commitment to developing this sport in Africa, with Orange involved in most of the countries with local clubs and federations for some time now.
For many years, Orange has been supporting the national teams from the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Botswana.
This commitment to African football took on a new scale when the partnership was sealed with the Confederation of African Football in July 2009. Buoyed by the success of the first Orange African Cup of Nations - ANGOLA 2010 - Orange is continuing to develop mobile services to enable its customers to live their passion for football to the full during the coming years under this partnership.
