1st March, 2010 - On February 12, the Orange France Telecom Group teams in charge of the Africa, Middle East and Asia region were honored during the African Telecom People awards ceremony in Paris.
Each year, this show, organized by the Réseau Telecom Network magazine and whose sponsors include Orange, issues awards for the best operators in Africa. At this sixth event, the Group and its teams were strongly represented with six nominations:
Three nominations in the "data operator" category: 
Orange Senegal / Sonatel for Western Africa

Orange Cameroon for Central Africa

Mauritius Telecom for Southern and Eastern Africa
Three nominations in the "voice operator" category:

Orange Mali for Western Africa

Orange Cameroon for Central Africa

Orange Botswana for Southern and Eastern Africa
In the end, Orange picked up three awards:
Best data operator for Western Africa: Orange Senegal/Sonatel
Best data operator for Southern and Eastern Africa: Mauritius Telecom
Manager’s award for Mamadou Bamba, CEO of Côte d'Ivoire Telecom and acting CEO of Orange Côte d'Ivoire
